Best day ever?

Oh you wanna know the best day ever?
Hey lovers, it’s Monday which typically is my least favorite day. Why? Well it’s Monday. Plus that means a busy day at work which means not enough time to blog stalk… I mean…. Eh whatever. Anyway its day 9 of the 15 day challenge! This little ole’ challenge has turned out to be way more than an easy wTay to choose what to blog about every day… I kid that’s not why I did it… well not completely! I infact have learned that Sar the host of this little challenge and I are from the same town and have a ton of the same friends… pretty ridic. Also I have had to actually do some self-evaluation. Kinda good? Not to mention I have found a ridic amount of awesome blogs to stalk, btw I suck at blog commenting because I do the majority of stalking at work and apparently my company doesn’t think that I should be commenting on your blogs on the clock, they block that ish!! How dare them!  Anyway, on to the challenge eh?
{Day 9} Describe the best day of your life to date.

Well seeing how I just looooove to live life this was rather difficult… I mean the best day ever? I could talk about my week long trips to the lake each summer, perhaps my first visit to Disney Land? Maybe the day I fell in love with Harry Potter? The births of my nieces and nephews, trips to Texas, Vegas trips with my besties, wine tasting in Chelan, the day I became an Alpha Phi… Yeah I just rubbed that all up in your faces… do you still love me? I hope so… but the best day ever? Is there really just one? C’mon!
So I am doing a top 3 best days ever. Because I can.
{1} The day my divorce was finalized. Yes this sounds so awful I know, but a weight was lifted off of me. It didn’t take long because we both filed jointly; it was something we decided on together. While it was difficult and embarrassing and painful all at the same time it was also the biggest relief to know I could finally just move on from that part of my life. I called it D-Day for so long and didn’t have the guts to actually go to court I was too nervous and too emotional but when I received a text from my now ex that said you are officially Ashley Mitchell again I had the biggest most ridiculous sigh of relief. It was done. It was over; it was time to move forward.

{2} The day I met each of my nieces and nephews. Granted technically this is 4 days but you know what I mean. What a wonderful gift each of them has been to me.  I endured 30 something hours at the hospital when my sister went into labor with Harley (yeah like I am the one who endured haha) I remember holding her for the first time and being in such awe even though she looked like a weirdo with a cone head and one eye swollen shut, not her finest moment but she made a great come back! Then there was Avrey, I worked all day the day she was born and I called every 30 minutes but was promptly at the hospital with gifts in hand after she was born, little did we know what a little hell on wheels she would be; yet I just can’t help but love her. My sweet, sweet Gavin; while I did not have the pleasure of having him enter my life until after he was over a year old I could not imagine a life without him. He is the sweetest little boy and I swear he has the bluest eyes in the world. Then came a moment I will never forget. The day that put the nail in the coffin so to speak, the day I actually witnessed a baby being born. Watching my little wolverine Hudson be born was without a doubt the most amazing thing in the world however watching my sweet sister give birth was horrifying. While I would not trade those moments for anything I know without a doubt that child birth is mortifying and anyone who has done it is a saint.

{3} Today July 9th in fact is making it on the record books. Today I received an e-mail offering me a new position with the company I work for, Buh BYE call center! BOOOM! And along with that new position came a little something I like to call a raise! So right about now I am feeling pretty good about things! Thank you life for taking a turn for happy town!

So there ya have it Nuggets my top 3/7 days of my life. Jealous much? Love ya!

Weekend rewind

Oh Hey!!! I missed you my little bloggy friends! But I was on a wild weekend ride. After my last post I went for a hike with a friend, a day date if you will. Yeah I know I said I was done dating on like Monday but duty calls. Anyway, it was BEAUTIFUL once we got to the top. Um I tell ya I love the PNW when the weather is nice! Then we followed it up with some fatty food and a nap. Yeah a pretty bad ass date, hikes and naps. Wild hot pair we are. Then I checked out a local dive bar with one of my besties Sarah. Saturday was spent trying to determine how to treat my dislocated index finger. That was a good one. I will let your imaginations run wild with how I managed that. But I should get back to business and get caught up on my 15 day challenge so here goes it Day 7 and 8 for all you little nuggets!
{Day 7} Recommend a book for us to read. Why do you think it's important?

Man this was hard for me because I read a lot. And I have a ton of favorites. I have read every Harry Potter book at least 3 times, every twilight book at least 3 times, the hunger games, Chelsea Handlers books etc. But I think a book that means something to me is Eat, Pray, Love. By Elizabeth Gilbert. I read it right after my husband and I had separated so it really was like reading about my life. It inspired me to not sit in an bad spot and sulk over what was happening in my life but to instead embrace my life and take it on head first. It really taught me a lot about myself and plus who doesn't love to read about places like Italy?

{Day 8} Describe "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly" of yourself.

Hmmm this could get interesting. Don't they always say you are your own worst critic? Well let me give this a shot.

The Good- I wear my heart on my sleeve. I love to love. I want to please everyone and I want life to be fair and just to every one. Unfortunately this isn't realistic but I think the fact that I am a lover and not a fighter is one of my best qualities. Well to be honest I will fight if need be I don't take no shit from no one buuuut I am a lover none the less!

The Bad- I am not good at confrontation. I either come on waaay too strong or not strong enough. Its no bueno. I usually end up getting waay to upset and not having a resolution at all.

The Ugly- I am waay too emotional. It is true I am a hot mess of emotion. I need to learn how to not get so emotionally invested I need to be able to step back and look at the whole scenario rather than get so emotional.

Well Kids I'm off to bed! Love ya Nuggets!

Because dying sounds awesome.

Heyo! I promised I would be back on track so here I am, writing to you about Day 6 of the 15 day challenge. I also thought I would do a Dear Friday or two for old times sake... btw my blog is like a month old, there is no old time sake yet but it felt right in my bones! Okay on to day 6 shall we?

Day 6's prompt is "What's something you have always wanted to do but haven't and why not?"

Well this was soooo hard. There are about a million things I have wanted to do but haven't yet. I could write for days about this but what itg boils down to is time and money usually and well kids that doesn't make for an interesting story at all. So what I decided on is this: Sky Diving.

I have ALWAYS wanted to go sky diving. I especially got the itch to go skydiving after my most recent relationship, he was a total sky diving enthusiast and described it in a way that made it sound absolutly irresistible. So why haven't I gone? Oh because I am 100% petrified of heights. And I mean that in the way you are imagining. Total freak out style. One summer when we were camping at Banks Lake we went up to the cliffs to go cliff jumping. It took me about 45 minutes, 2 beer bongs, and a shot of vodka before I finally took the plunge and dropped that staggering 12 feet (thats an exaggeration) into the water. So imagine what's going to happen when you stick me in an airplane with the intention of jumping out. Its gonna take a few Xanax to get my ass out the door.

On to Dear Friday....

Dear Friday,
You know what makes you so great? I am bloggin outside, the sun is shining, I know I am about to go have a hiking day date, and I don't have to work today. Friday July 6th you rule.

Dear Nimbus,
I love you. You might be the only cat I actually like but seriously that major poo you took this morning was absolutely horrendous. The most disgusting thing ever.

Dear Mother Nature,
Thank you. You have finally answered my demands for warm weather, in fact I got my first sunburn of the year and I couldn't be happier.

Dear Ryan,
Thank you for calling to let me know you are safely at your destination. Today I will do something that will blow your mind. I am actually going to use one of my 4 camelpak bladders for water rather than Jack. I know... I am almost embarrassed of myself.

Well Nuggets I hope you all have a fabulous weekend! I will be doing my best not to die on this "slightly strenuous hike" I am about to go on (his words not mine). If you don't hear from me for a few days its because I died on the way up.

So I might be a failure...

Okay... so yeah I failed at this whole 15 day challenge. Day 4 and Day 5? Yeah I was busy drinking, eating, and being with my amazing family... But I promise to make it up to you right now! Ready? Okay! (I kind of just felt like  cheerleader...)
Day 4's prompt was  "What's your favorite childhood memory?". Man this was REALLY hard for me... But I think I would have to say that my favorite childhood memory was a family trip to Nebraska. Yes Nebraska. We loaded up in the car and drove to Nebraska. We went to visit my grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins the whole gang! We did some fun things like go to the water park and amusement park but mostly it was just the first actual family vacation we had ever been on. It was scorching hot and ridiculous but I was like 9.

Day 5's prompt was "If you could have dinner with 5 people who would they be?" Oh man I could have a field day with this one! Just 5? Really? Alright here goes it. In list form of course...
(1) JK Rowling. No doubt hands down. So I could tell her that she changed my life forever.
(2) Luke Bryan. And after we ate I would shake it for him and we would fall in love.
(3)Julia Roberts. I have always loved her. I can't quite figure out if she is sweet and down to earth or not so dinner would be a clear way to find out.
(4) Gordon Ramsey. Because who doesn't want to hear that sweet angel talk about food.
(5) Paula Deen. But only if she cooked. Gosh I love her. I mean in a really unhealthy way. I just adore her no matter what anyone says about her.

So see I didn't let you down did I? My family has been here from Nebraska and we have been busy hustling all around and spending every moment we could together! So here is a little sneak peak inside my week with my family via Instagram!
Grammy and Gramps

Please note my 11 month old nephew is eating a whole rib.

Seattle day gum wall, pikes place and bacon clusters!
My grand parents are adorable. As is my nephew.

Alright nuggets, I'm off to bed. Big day tomorrow!

Oh yes I went there...

As some of you know I am participating in the 15 day blog challenge with Life of Love. So below I took on day 3's challenge. Also merely because I feel like it I need to vent. And since this is my blog and I am home alone I shall do it here... I have officially given up dating. It's for the birds. I have decided that truly all I need in life is stiff drink, food, my nieces and nephews, and a good pair of jeans. Enough on that subject. Also I would just like to say that today I hate my job. I really, really, REALLY am tired of being treated like shit by people who are pist at their doctors. BTW I answer phones and schedule appointments. I HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH WHAT YOUR DOCTOR DOES AND DOESN'T DO!!! Now if you appointment is screwed up because of me, please by all means rip me a new one. But when you are mad at me and yelling at me because its 5:55 on a day before a holiday and you didn't get your percs refilled because you just had a 30 day supply refilled oh I don't know 2 weeks ago, take a long look in the mirror dear. PHEW. I feel about a million times better now! Thanks kiddo's. I am off to drink way too much, spend time with my wonderful gramps and grammy and blow crap up! YES AMERICUUUH!!!

When I was growing up Papa Chuck was a Marine Corps Recruiter. Which basically means he went away for a few weeks at a time to training courses, worked weird hours, and sometimes we had strange men in our bathrooms doing circuit training in sweat suits to lose weight. Not to bad. Plus when he went on trips he would always bring back gifts. Because I tended to be the bossy one of the household, aka I threw giant fits to get my way, my dad brought me home a shirt from Washington D.C. when I was in 1st grade that really summed up my personality. It is without a doubt the oldest thing in my wardrobe other than the dress I was brought home from the hospital in. And here it is for your viewing pleasure....

Yes. My the article of clothing that I am the very most attached to is a 20 year old t-shirt that says "I'm the boss". I have had that shirt for practically my whole life. It is thread bare, covered in holes, and a bit too small but I love that shirt. I will keep it for my entire life. I don't know why I can't seem to part with it but I just can't. I can't find a way.

So there you have it kids 15 day challenge day # 3!! Go check out the link link link it up on Sar's page!

It gets weird on day 2...

So today is day 2 of the 15 day challenge and I am already feeling well, quite challenged. The task for the day is to "write a few 6 word memiors". And if I am completely honest I don't even know where to begin. But since this little challenge isn't super strict what I plan to do is describe my self in six words... HAHA. Right like I could ever use so few words to describe anything. But I will do my very best and perhaps give a little insight into why I chose those particular words! Also dont forget to swing on over to Sar's blog to check out all the other wonderful ladies who have taken on the challenge!

So here goes it nuggets:

(1) Sarcastic. Sarcasm is my greatest tool. I use it to shield myself, to relate to others, to break awkward silences, to express emotions etc. I am sarcastic by nature and sometimes way too much so!

(2) Awkward. I seriously make non awkward situations awkward. With everyone. No matter who you are. Its bad.

(3) Loud. I am loud even when I try to be quiet. I have a loud whisper. I swear I do not even know how to be quiet.

(4) Dramatic. I am quite possibly the most dramatic person I know. Well not really. But it is bad. I think I am dying of the plague when I have a cold. But at least I am aware of it right?

(5) Fighter. If I love something I will fight for it. I will love you and I will give everything I have to protect you. Dog, friend, family, food etc. Yes I did include food in that statement.

(6) Hopeful. This is one of my best/worst traits. I seem to always hope for the very best even when I don't have a single reason to. While this can be a very good thing in some situations; when it comes to certain people it can be a very bad thing. Sometimes I need to learn when to cut my loses but something inside makes me hold on just a little too long sometimes.

So there you have it my nuggets, I dunno if this is even slightly close to what memiors would be but its my interpertation and since well it is my blog, I can do whatever I want! Hope you all have had a fantastic Monday!

Love ya Nuggets!

Dear Crashley and the 15 day challenge...

So I was a little late with the usual Dear Friday but I had a few things to say! Also, Sarah over at Life of Love is hosting an awesome link up challenge! Check it out over here! This also means I am writting a ridiculously long post today... but I think you guys might get used to that eventually....

Dear Sunday,
I love you. You are my day of rest. But instead of resting I will be hangin with my BFF and eating some of my favorite things in the world. Grammy is here and she is cookin up a storm!

Dear Grandparents,
How excited am I that you two sweethearts finally loaded on a plane and came to Washington all the way from Nebraska. I love you and I can’t wait for you to spoil me rotten with food and love. Yes Grandma, don’t forget that even though you are on vacation you will be cookin up your special beef and noodles. It must be done.
Look at those angels.

Dear Ryan my little redneck,
What is there to say to you other than if you still want I will gladly break your leg so you can stay here. Please be safe and come back in one piece.  Remember to update me frequently and to stalk my blog for entertainment while you are away. Please know that I will be thinking of you every day and will do my very best not to worry myself to death. This goes for my little ginger snap as well and perhaps even Big Bird even though we know he and I are too much alike to get along. Please hurry back and don’t do anything to worry me or sweet Angela while you are gone. Oh PS. Please tell Angela she can forward my holiday gift boxes to my home address while you are gone.
More on the proper way to fish another day.
Dear Crashley,
You’re behavior as of late has been quite acceptable. Because you have not recently gone on any crazy binge drinking fits, lost any valuable electronics, fallen and caused bodily harm to yourself, got into a crazy screaming match with anyone who looks at you or your friends sideways or anything remotely similar; I am concerned. It makes me feel like your time in the spot light is coming. Please do me a favor and keep yourself in check. Your sober side much appreciates it. As does your body, friends, family, and bank account.

Keep it together Crashley...
